Project:
Restoration, renovation, and reorganization of three monumental canal houses.
For the organization, which has been housed since 2000 in three monumental canal houses in Amsterdam, M+R developed an innovative work environment for these buildings. In addition to the 18th-century monumental interior, primarily in the Louis XIV style, the property also includes an office building that was constructed in the mid-20th century (1953).

Description:
For this project, M+R commissioned a historical color study, which served as the foundation for the restoration of the monumental canal houses and the carefully selected composition of materials and color palette.
The office building spans a total of seven floors, with the top floor converted into a dining-work café offering stunning views over the city of Amsterdam. The interior is based on natural warm beige tones, with furniture crafted from sustainable wood, brass, and marble. The design aligns with Richemont's vision of quality, meticulous detailing, and craftsmanship. The chosen Kvadrat upholstery and carpets complement this beautifully.
The walls, with their monumental wooden paneling, are adorned with exceptionally durable linen wall coverings. The entire interior radiates calm and comfort, with a timeless design meant to last for years—exactly the kind of sustainable choice M+R envisions for long-lasting projects. Each floor features a living room with various seating areas and meeting spaces, a fully equipped pantry and bar, designed to foster connection and collaboration.
The innovative work environment is outfitted with height-adjustable sit-stand desks, quiet zones, and collaborative spaces. Special attention has been given to the climate and acoustics of the work floors. The color scheme remains neutral, accented with touches of brass, such as the suspended light fixtures above the workspaces.
Custom-designed cabinets with greenery and 'room dividers' create a soothing, inspiring, and comfortable work environment.
Even the signage and iconography were specially designed by M+R.
